SUMMARY:‘Hot topics’ in HR: finding and keeping good staff & sexually transgressive behaviour
DESCRIPTION:Today’s labor market poses several challenges to employers. In this workshop\, we will address two ‘hot topics’ in particular. The first is: how to attract and retain good staff? We will provide you with tips and tricks on how to stand out from other employers in this current ’employee’s market’ and discuss (upcoming) legislation to consider when hiring. \nThe second topic is: how to prevent sexually transgressive behaviour in the workplace and how to properly address it when it occurs? Unfortunately\, more and more employers are faced with incidents or complaints of sexually transgressive behaviour. We have observed that this has a profound effect not only on the parties involved but also on all staff members. We will delve into the responsibilities employers have in ensuring a safe workplace and what measures should be in place to handle such matters in the best possible way to minimize impact. \nWe will discuss (a.o): \nHow to attract and retain good staff? \n\nThe modern take on the employer role: attractive employment conditions\, new types of employment contracts\nAdapting to new generations\nLegislative proposals: recruitment and selection\, equal pay and non-compete clause\nScreening of staff\n\nHow to prevent sexually transgressive behaviour in the workplace? \n\nLegal responsibilities of the employer to ensure a safe workplace\nProcedures for sexually transgressive behaviour\nImportance of culture and zero tolerance policy\nHow to conduct a proper investigation\nPossible sanctions under employment law\n\nSpeakers \nAnnemarie van Woudenberg\, salary partner and attorney-at-law\, specialized in employment law and privacy law. She has been working at Poelmann van den Broek since 2016\, but has been an attorney-at-law since 2013. LinkedIn \n \nAntoinette Niebeek\, attorney-at-law\, specialized in employment law.
